I was diagnosed with cervical cancer when I was twenty. I had HPV and had broken out with warts. Because of the discomfort I called my doctor and asked to have them removed. I went in and he did a pap smkear at the same time and removed the warts. A week later he called and said he needed to see me in his office. When I went in he informed me that I had cancer and they needed to do more testing. He did a LEEP procedure and removed what was there. A year later I had to have a lazer conization of the cervix and have been fine since.

Has Doctor

This procedure without a doubt saved my life.  I had seen another doctor about a year before that ignored my issue.  Had he not killed himself we would have had a lawsuit against him.  I went to Dr. Cox and he got right on things right away, with no time to spare.  He felt the LEEP was the best procedure and he was right.  I was terrified for the procedure and when they put the large pad thing on my leg so that it would "ground me out" I was less then thrilled.  After the procedure I had a lot of discomfort and scaring.  I was unable to be intimate with my husband without pain for years.  We just had our first child and I was worried about the scar tissue and the complications it would cause but the scar tissue came off with the dialation and I haven't had any discomfort since.  Dr. Cox is an amazing doctor and definately not only saved my life but he was able to save my ability to have kids.  I owe him so much and knowing the complications that came from my procedure I would still do it a million times over to have the relief I have now.  I didn't have to have any further treatments since and I have been free of any abnormalties since.  I have had completely clear paps since the LEEP.  I would definately recommend talking to your doctor about this procedure rather then freezing them off and such, it really has given me peace of mind.
