Dear Stoneking

As your question was followed with the scary words "congenital heart disease" I would suggest you immediately contact your "heart specialist". Remember it is important to utilize your "time" with your doctor well This can be accomplished in a few ways. the first is to always sit down with a trusted companion and make a list of the questions you have. If "stress, "anxiety" hinder your ability to do this or to be able to get the answers you need -take a companion to the doctors visit.  Or better yet find out from your treating physician the name a nurse in your physician's you can use to get answers to your questions. And for some questions on a weekend or holiday remember your "pharmacist" might be able to help you.

Your question merits what I think is the "fear" factor health care professionals know plague patients. "Fear" can be so overwhelming as we, the "commoner" try to understand. Fear has solutions. Overcome fear with knowledge, follow your doctors advice, or to even seek a second opinion.   Join a support group. Read and adopt a healthier life style.

Maybe those noises are not dire. Maybe they are simply your medicines doing the job, or your healthier life style making you stronger. Maybe you recently reduced your salt intake and your heart and lungs are adjusting to an environment where no longer fluids are accumulating. Remember sometimes the news the doctor or nurse has for you is good news.
