My grandmother, whom I cared for during her final years, fought breast cancer for ten years. She went through several types of chemotherpy and radiation. When she underwent the paclitaxel treatment she had seveal side effects. Within the first month of treatment she developed a severe case of shingles. They were extremely painful for her and made it very difficult for her to rest at all. She also had severe naseau which caused her severe discomfort. Although I am not warning people to use this drug if it is recommended by your doctor, I do want to let people know the paclitaxel-induced side effects she expierenced.
