Glioma

Updated 7 months ago (1 posts)

Diagnosis Details: She was age 12. There was a glioma in her brain stem that was inoperable. She was given 6 months to live. She was given radation. There was no point in having her last few months be so miserable, so the parents opted for no chemotherapy.

The procedure our granddaughter underwent was radiation.  They clamped her head so tightly so she could not move.  It was very scarey for her, and for all us family to have her go through this procedure.  But we had hopes that it would buy us a little time.  And it did.  Thanks to this radiation procedure, it reduced the swelling of the tumor enough for her to function for a couple of months.  We are thankful for that radiation at Children's Hospital.
